Vol. 9, Issue 2, December 2008

Welcome to Dialogue!

Dear Readers,

If you build it, they will come to Buffalo – and TESOLers from near and far did. The weather even cooperated with no snow and no cold! To see what you missed or relive the NYS TESOL Annual Conference 2008, including a photo and video gallery,

Once again our featured columnists have new ideas and activities for you to use in the classroom. Find an easy vocal warm-up in “Pronunciation Corner” and a great series of simple, short Web tutorials for you and your students in “Webbing In.”

Ever wondered what a job in administration might be like? Spend some time with Rhonda Naidich in “On the Job” and see how she straddles the roles of administrator and teacher. Then, if you are having trouble finding writing texts for the elementary level, look over the book list provided by educator Stella Kokoros in "TESOLutions." For another sponge activity to add to your teacher bag, go to Annette Burton’s downloadable picture dictation in “Lesson Plan.”  You can find even more classroom tips if you scroll through “Lurking.”

Still thinking about becoming a member? Now is the time to join. Beginning with our February issue, only NYS TESOL members will receive Dialogue. We’d hate for you to miss out!
